Pandora

It was December 2024, when Kareema found three little kittens dumped next to ‘the haven’. She quickly took the three little ones inside and they ended up in the safety of ‘the haven’. The kittens were named Spider, Paisly and Pandora.

Pandora gets along well with the other cats and the cat-friendly dogs in ‘the haven’. Pandora is very friendly towards people.

Pandora is estimated to be around 8 months old, her estimated date of birth is around July 2024.

Pandora is a healthy boy. Despite his white color, he is not deaf as white cats often are.

Like all SHE cats, Pandora has had his vaccinations. This against common cat diseases and rabies. He is also chipped and has had a deworming and anti-flea treatment. Pandora is neutered and also litter-box trained.

Pandora is ready to pack his bags and move.

We attach great importance to the safety of our SHE cats. A SHE adoption cat must be an indoor cat. Because Pandora is used to the safe environment of ‘the haven’ from kittenhood, this is extra important for him. A very well-sealed outdoor space or cat run is of course also good.

Pandora is the only one of the 3 kittens that has not yet been adopted.

Who will fall for this handsome young gentleman with his beautiful blue eyes and offer him a loving and safe home?

Sir Vanderbilt

It was December 2024 when Kareema saw a post about a nearly blind young cat on the busy streets of Cairo.

As so often, se brought him to safety as soon as possible. As we all know, blind cats don’t stand a chance when they are alone on the streets.

The cat was taken to ‘the haven’ and was named Sir Vanderbilt. It is estimated that Sir Vanderbilt is about 1 year old, his date of birth is around January 2024.

Sir Vanderbilt is missing his right eye, according to the vet he can still see shadows with his left eye. Fortunately this does not bother him at all.

Sir Vanderbilt is a very gentle and friendly cat to all cats and the cat friendly dog in ‘the haven’.

Sir Vanderbilt is also a real cuddler towards people, he loves to be petted.

Like all SHE cats, he has received his vaccinations. These are against common cat diseases and rabies.

He is also microchipped and spayed. Has received his deworming and flea treatment. Sir Vanderbilt is also litter box trained.

We attach great importance to the safety of our SHE cats. A SHE adoption cat must be an indoor cat.

With Sir Vanderbilt this is extra important because he is almost blind and cannot see any dangers on the street. A very well enclosed outdoor area or cat run is of course also good.

Prince White

On the street

Prince White is a fluffy, blue-eyed salon cat. Not a street cat. – And yet; what do you get when you put a salon cat on the street? – A street cat. One with even worse chances of survival than other cats.

Our prince was lucky enough to be noticed by someone. Posted in a local Facebook group for street cats in need. And he won the lottery of cats that can be taken in by the shelter of Safe Haven Egypt.

It was in January 2025 that he arrived in Haven. He received his name from a sponsor who recently adopted a cat from SHE. – A name given with love.

It is estimated that he is now 3 years old. Which makes his estimated date of birth around early 2022.

Thanks to the good care at Haven, made possible by donations like these, Prince White is now fully prepared for a salon of his own.

He is not only photogenic. He is also a friendly boy. At the moment he is a calm tomcat, not playful.

But know that he is now in a completely different environment than where he will end up after adoption. He is now together with dozens of other cats. That has an effect on the behavior.

He gets along well with the other cats, and also with the cat-friendly dog in Haven.

Prince White has received his basic vaccinations against common cat diseases and rabies. Deworming and flea treatment. He is chipped and neutered. And is litter box trained.

There are no known medical problems. FIV/FeLV testing is available.

Like all SHE cats, Prince White must be an indoor cat. We are very strict about this because we do not want our ex-street cats, for whom so much effort has been put into saving them, to be run over by a car at the adopter’s.

He will be ready to travel by the end of May 2025.

Who has a seat and a windowsill to share? Does Prince White seem to fit your situation? Your current and future situation, in sickness and prosperity?

Then check it out our adoption procedure. And don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or are interested.

Is a prince not fitting in your house right now? Sharing this post would be a great help.

Louis

December 2024

Louis is one of the gifts that Kareema’s husband occasionally brings home after a visit to the local gym.

When Kareema’s husband went to the gym, he found an old tomcat next to the gym. People there threatened to poison him, so Kareema’s husband took Louis home. The next day he was taken to the safety of ‘the haven’ and he has been there ever since.

How Louis survived on the streets of Cairo for so long is a miracle. He did contract FIV infection in years on the streets. So he is FIV positive.

Louis is estimated to be about 8 years old.

Louis is a very gentle and cuddly boy who loves to be petted. He gets along well with the other cats and cat-friendly dogs in ‘the haven’.

Like all SHE cats, Louis has had his vaccinations. This against common cat diseases and rabies. He is also chipped and has had a deworming and anti-flea treatment. Louis is neutered and also litter-box trained.

We attach great importance to the safety of our SHE cats. A SHE adoption cat must be an indoor cat. A very well-sealed outdoor space or cat run is of course also good.

Is anyone interested in giving this very gentle and cuddly senior a safe and loving home?

Duchess

❗ This is a confirmed cat. This cat is not longer available for adoption.

Kareema, who manages the shelter, had been feeding a ginger cat in the neighborhood where she lives for some time.

At the end of July 2024, this cat had kittens in one of the buildings in this neighborhood. She received a phone call from someone in the neighborhood that the mother cat was not doing well. Kareema immediately took the cat to a vet, in all probability the cat was poisoned by someone from the building.

Fortunately, the mother cat recovered quickly. Kareema took her to her building, there was an apartment that was empty. In the apartment, Kareema set up a cage so that the mother cat could raise the kittens safely and comfortably.

Here the mother cat was given the name Duchess. Duchess is a super affectionate and active cat. She loves to be petted. Duchess is also said to be a cat that can get along well with children.

Once the kittens were vaccinated, the mother cat and her kittens were able to move to ‘the haven’.

Duchess gets along well with the other cats and cat-friendly dog in ‘the haven’.

Duchess is estimated to be less than 2 years old, her estimated date of birth is around April 2023. Duchess is vaccinated against cat flu, sneezing disease and rabies, a titer determination is done for the rabies vaccination because this is necessary to be allowed to fly. She is chipped, sterilized, deflead and dewormed. Duchess is litter box trained. Duchess can travel to Europe, England, the United States, Canada.

We attach great importance to the safety of our SHE cats. A SHE adoption cat must be an indoor cat. A very well-sealed outdoor space or cat run is of course also good.

Interested in this affectionate and active lady? Check out our adoption procedure. And don’t hesitate to send us a message, we are happy to assist you.

Angeni

When she just arrived at Haven

In June/July 2023, Kareema saw a post of a mother cat raising her 5 kittens on the street. She immediately went to get the mother and her 5 kittens off the street.

Since then they have been living in the safety of ‘the haven’. Angeni is one of the 5 kittens and has been staying in ‘the haven’ for almost her entire life. She would love to have a loving home of her own.

Since she was a young kitten around June 2023 she is now about 1.5 years old.

Angeni is good with people, she loves to get attention. As far as we know Angeni is a healthy lady. The option to have her tested for FIV/FeLV is available.

She gets along well with the other cats and cat-friendly dog in ‘the haven’.

All SHE cats have received their basic vaccinations against common cat diseases and Rabies vaccination. Deworming treatment and anti-flea treatment. And are also chipped and sterilized. Angeni is also litter box trained.

Angeni is a literal street cat as she was born on the streets. But since she was adopted into Haven as a young kitten, she didn’t really have to go through the trauma of that life. – Angeni was very lucky. Many thousands of kittens on the streets of Cairo didn’t.

Now that Angeni has grown from a kitten to a full-grown young cat… will her luck hold? Who can give her a home? A safe, loving home?

Whoever thinks they can do that then please read our adoption procedure. And don’t hesitate to contact us.

Mooji

Just arrived in Haven

It was the end of January 2025 when suddenly children stood in front of the gate of ‘the haven’ with Mooji in their hands.

The children saw Mooji being chased by a group of street dogs on the street and they saved her from the dogs. Then they immediately went with Mooji to ‘the haven’ where Kareema immediately took her inside.

We estimate Mooji was born around June 2022. Which makes her about 2.5 years old now.

Mooji is a very friendly and affectionate cat. Mooji is very people-oriented, she loves to get attention and to be petted. She is a master at giving headbutts.

Mooji is friendly towards other cats and the cat-friendly dog in her apartment in ‘the haven’.

As far as we know Mooji has no health problems. It is possible to test her for FIV/FeLV.

Like all SHE cats, Mooji has received her basic vaccinations. As well as the mandatory rabies vaccination. An anti-worm treatment and anti-fleas. Mooji is sterilized and chipped. And is also litter box trained.

Mooji has found safety in Haven. We want this to be the same with her adopter. That is why she must be an indoor cat.

Who can give Mooji a home? Is it you?

Then take a look at our adoption procedure. And don’t hesitate to contact us for questions.
