It was April 2025 when Kareema saw a message about a paralyzed cat wandering the streets of Cairo. Because of that Kareema did not waste any time and had Onyx rescued off the streets as soon as possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a lot of love and care, good food and vitamins luckily Onyx has improved a lot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Onyx is able to walk, yet not very fast and her walk is wobbly but that doesn’t bother her at all. She even is able to walk stairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Onyx is estimated to be about 3 years old, her estimated date of birth is March 2023. When Onyx was just rescued she was very shy of humans, this has improved also. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Onyx can be petted now but she still doesn’t like to be picked up. At ‘the haven’, Onyx is friendly towards the other cats and cat-friendly dog. Onyx will not be ready to pack her bags and travel before the end of April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Safe Haven Egypt rehomes cats to be only indoor cats. This is extra important for Onyx because she has a wobbly walk. A secured outdoor space, like a cat-proofed balcony or enclosed garden area would be a plus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
