Safe Haven Egypt receives by means of every contact channel available many requests daily to ask to take in cats. Cats found on the streets of Cairo, inside a building. Healthy cats, severly wounded cats, a mother and a litter of kittens …..<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Or people who have house cats but can not longer take care of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We know the need for helping these cats is high. Unfortunately there is only so much that can be done by a cat rescue like Safe Haven Egypt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
If we could we would safe them all. But we cannot. We do what we can. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are already more than 400 cats in Haven. Space for them, but mostly money and human power to take care of them are limiting factors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Getting those cats adopted is very difficult. Local intrest for adopting our cats is very limited. Most go to the United Kingdom and the European union. Some to the USA and Canada. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But that is a very slow, difficult and expensive process. People in those countries have also cats in local rescues waiting. Very few will even consider following the difficult path by adopting a cat from far away from the internet that they have never seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you write us or one of the volunteers helping with managing Safe Haven Egypt then we will most unfortunately – and with regret – will need to tell you that we can not help you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We do not take in cats on request. If you ask we will need to say no.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n There is just one exception; if you are a tourist who has found a cat and you wish that we take the cat in and get it on a plane to your home country ….so you take full responsibility for it …… maybe. – Contact us<\/a>. – Again ‘maybe’.
