Ziva

Kareema, who runs the shelter, had been feeding a red cat near where she lives for a while. At the end of July 2024, this cat had 4 kittens in one of the buildings in its neighborhood.

Kareema received a call from someone in the neighborhood that the mother cat was not doing well.

The cat was taking to a vet, most likely the cat had been poisoned by someone from the building. Fortunately, the mother cat, Duchess, recovered quickly. Ziva is one of Duchess’ kittens, she has been at ‘the haven’ since she was rescued at the age of 1 month old.

Ziva is estimated to be born around June 2024. And is now about 1,5 years old now.

Ziva is a very playful and friendly young cat that likes to get attention. During my visit, Ziva sat on my lap several times. Only thing is she doesn’t like to be picked up. Ziva is okay with the other cats and dog at ‘the haven’.

All SHE-cats are vaccinated against common cat diseases and rabies. She is also chipped and has had a de-worming and anti-flea treatment. Ziva is neutered and also litter-box trained.

SHE re-homes cats to be only indoor cats, this is extra important for Ziva because she has gotten used to the safety of the enclosed gardens of ‘the haven’. Ziva would love a secure outdoor space, like a cat-proofed balcony or enclosed garden area.

Can you give Ziva a home? – A good home, a safe home? Please check our adoption procedure. And please do not hesitate to contact us.

Olly

Meet single prince OLLY, our gorgeous black-smoke Mau cat from Safe Haven Egypt (SHE) in Cairo! He’s looking for his forever home – could it be with you?

📓 Olly’s Story:

In February 2025, Olly was found near a restaurant in Cairo, surviving on leftover food. Now, he is safe at our shelter, getting the care he needs.

💉 Health & Travel Preparation:

Olly is estimated to be born in early 2023. So he is now about 3 years old and recovered well from his time on the streets. Fortunately, he hasn’t suffered from any injuries or illnesses. He has been de-wormed, flea-treated, neutered, micro-chipped, and has completed all necessary vaccinations against common feline diseases and rabies, making him eligible to travel to the UK, EU, Switzerland, USA, and Canada.

🌟 What Makes Olly Special?

Olly is a stunning Egyptian Mau with a rare black-smoke coat. His deep amber eyes contrast beautifully with his dark fur — he’s truly one of a kind!

🐾 Personality & Needs:

Olly is a very affectionate cat who loves attention and cuddles. He greets everybody who is visiting the Haven. However, Olly would like to be a single cat, since he is a bit possessive when it comes to his people. And also has a problem with other male cats.
For safety reasons, SHE only adopts cats into indoor homes. Of course, Olly would love a secure outdoor space, like a cat-proofed balcony or enclosed garden area.

Cecelia

Intake picture

Look at her, with her beautiful long fur. If you look at her intake photo and see the difference with how she looks now you can only imagine how fluffy she will get once she is in a colder climate.

Cecelia is estimated to be born in 2023. So she is about 3 years old. She can see with only one eye and once at ‘the haven’ they noticed that she is totally deaf.

Cecelia is friendly towards humans and likes to get attention. She is also okay with the other cats at ‘the haven’ but we notice her sitting by herself often. Because of that we think that she would suit best in a calm household.

Cecelia has received her basic vaccinations against common cat illnesses. She is de-wormed and has been treated against flea’s. Rabiës vaccination, micro chip and sterilization is also part of the package.

Cecelia has with one eye enough to find her litter box.

SHE re-homes cats to be only indoor cats, this is extra important for Cecelia because she is deaf and can see with only one eye.

Cecelia would love a secure outdoor space, like a cat-proofed balcony or enclosed garden area.

She is one of the few cats relatively speaking who made it from the streets and certain dead to safety. We do do not give our cats to just anyone. We have an adoption procedure. We believe this is reasonable.

If you wish to give Cecelia a place in your hart and home please check that out.

And if you also find those conditions are reasonable please contact us. And we will see of we can get Cecelia in your home.

Tinker

❗ This is an adopted cat ❗

Image with the text 'I am adopted' and logo of SHE. And also that there still other cats to adopt
on the street

Tinker found his way to Haven after an appeal in a Egyptian Facebook-group about a paralyzed cat in need, hiding under a car.

While certainly in need it was quickly obvious that Tinker was not paralyzed. In any case it was his ticket from certain dead on the streets to Haven.

Look at Tinkers’ sweet face. Luckily his appearance matches his personality.

Tinker is a very friendly young cat. He is estimated to be born around June 2025. So he is not even one year old.

At the haven Tinker gets along fine with the other cats and dog.

He has received has vaccinations against general cat illnesses, Rabies. Anti worm treatment and fleas. He is also micro-chipped and castrated. Tinker has figured out how the litter box works.

Tinker is ready to pack his bags and travel to the USA and Canada. He will be ready to travel to Europe at the end of February.

A lot effort has been done to safe Tinker from the streets of Cairo. We do wish that our adopted cats gets run over in the ‘very safe neighborhood’.

Because of the an condition of adoption is the SHE re-homes cats to be only indoor cats. Tinker would love a secure outdoor space, like a cat-proofed balcony or enclosed garden area.
